Getting started
Overview
Dotwork lets anyone run their own EVM chain, a layer, with its own chain id, its own gas token, its own block time and its own fee split. Each layer gets a public JSON-RPC endpoint, an explorer page and a USDG bridge to Robinhood Chain. A layer costs 20 USDG per 30 days, paid on Robinhood Chain.
What a layer is
- A dedicated EVM node operated by Dotwork, with chain id
4663100 + n. The house layer is4663101. - Gas is paid in the layer's gas token: USDG, or any ERC-20 on Robinhood Chain, scaled to 18 decimals on the layer.
- Blocks are produced only when transactions are waiting, at most one per block time (1, 2, 5 or 10 seconds).
- The base fee is zero, so every gas fee is paid to the layer's fee vault and split between the creator and the protocol at every batch.
- Every five minutes the operator signs a batch: block range, last block hash, state root, native supply on the layer and gas token held for it on Robinhood Chain.
What it is not
A layer today is not a rollup. Its node, its bridge and its batches are run by the Dotwork operator, and the trust model is written out in Bridge and trust model. The path to an Arbitrum Orbit rollup with Robinhood Chain as parent is described in Batches and verification.
Where to go next
- Quickstart: connect to the house layer and deploy a contract.
- Launch a layer: the payment, the config hash and what happens after.
- SDK and MCP: run layers from code and from agents.
